Governors' Ethanol Coalition
In September 1991, then Nebraska governor Ben Nelson asked other governors interested in creating a group devoted to the promotion and increased use of ethanol to join him in Lincoln, Nebraska. From that meeting, the Governors' Ethanol Coalition emerged. Membership in the Coalition doubled from nine to 19 states during the first year. Membership as of August 2006 stands at 35 states with international representatives from Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Sweden, Thailand, and Australia.
National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition
The NEVC is devoted to promoting the use of 85 percent ethanol as a renewable form of alternative transportation fuel while enhancing agricultural profitability, advancing environmental stewardship and promoting national energy independence.

OSHA
The Ethanol Board often works with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in promoting safe practices at ethanol plants and related industries. OSHA and the NEB have partnered on projects including TRANSCAER, the voluntary safe practices for ethanol plants program, and other safety awareness initiatives.
