EPA announces revised Renewable Fuels Standard Proposal

The Environmental Protection Agency has announced a proposal to revise the Renewable Fuels Standard. Meanwhile, the Obama administration has also announced the creation of a interagency biofuels working group to foster cooperation among the USDA, the Department of Energy, and the EPA. The group will work to encourage biofuels growth and development and to make biofuels production and use more environmentally sustainable.

The announcement shows the administration's continues support of biofuels like ethanol playing a role in reducing dependence on oil imports while improving the environment.
