New Fact Book highlights ethanol benefits
According to a new report by a broad coalition of industry, government and non-profit groups, producing fuel ethanol in the United States generates jobs and wealth by processing domestic resources into clean burning transportation fuels. Thousands of jobs, increased farm income, and tax receipts in the hundreds of millions of dollars flow from the ethanol industry while displacing costly and polluting petroleum imports.

FFV awareness campaign comes to Nebraska
The National Flexible Fuel Vehicle (FFV) Awareness Campaign announced a state-wide education effort beginning on Earth Day to alert drivers to new E85 road signs being installed across Nebraska. The program is designed to encourage FFV owners to use higher ethanol blends, such as E85, which have been proven to be easier on the environment than conventional gasoline.

Exxon pays no U.S. corporate income tax
How much money did you send to Uncle Sam today? Chances are it was more than Exxon Mobil. According to Forbes Magazine, the oil giant didn’t pay a single dime in corporate income tax to the U.S. government in 2009.

Ethanol Board respond to biofuel study
The Clean Fuels Development Coalition and the Nebraska Ethanol Board submitted joint comments today to the National Research Council’s Committee on Economic and Environmental Impacts of Increasing Biofuels Production. The ongoing study is the result of various requirements established by Congress in the Energy Security and Independence Act of 2007 and the Farm Bill of 2008 and comments were accepted as part of the public comment process.
EPA rule shows ethanol reduces emissions
The Environmental Protection Agency has finalized new rules which show that corn ethanol complies with the 20% reduction in emissions required by the Renewable Fuels Standard.
